Our Mission Statement
Our mission at Little Semillas is to bridge cultural, educational, and financial gaps by offering
bilingual, nature-based enrichment programs that are affordable, community driven, and rooted
in service.
Our Vision
Our vision is to cultivate a community where children and families grow in language, cultural
understanding, and compassion through education, connection, and service.
Our Story
Little Semillas began with one simple desire: to create the kind of learning environment I wanted
for my own children—one rooted in community, respect for children’s natural learning
processes, time spent outdoors, and service to something greater than ourselves.
What started as a few small groups quickly grew as more families were drawn to this shared
vision. Along the way, meaningful relationships formed with other parents who felt called to
serve their community in the same way. These relationships became the foundation of what is
now our board and leadership team.
Together, we recognized that what began as a small gathering had grown into something much
bigger than one person. With the support and commitment of these dedicated families, Little
Semillas was created as a nonprofit organization to continue serving children and families in a
deeper and more lasting way.
Our Values
Community & Belonging
We believe every family deserves to feel seen, welcomed, and supported. Little Semillas is built
on connection, collaboration, and shared growth.
Growth Through Nature
Nature is our classroom. Outdoor learning nurtures curiosity, resilience, and respect for the
environment while supporting healthy bodies and minds.
Whole-Child Learning
We honor the emotional, physical, social, and academic development of each child through
play-based and experiential education.
Cultural Appreciation & Bilingualism
We celebrate language and culture as bridges that connect us. Our programs foster respect,
curiosity, and pride in diverse traditions.
Creativity & Joy
Learning should feel alive. We encourage imagination, expression, and joyful discovery in everything we do.
Integrity & Care
We lead with honesty, kindness and empathy.
What Makes Us Different
Bilingual by Design
Spanish is woven naturally into our programs through songs, stories, movement, and
conversation.
Nature-Based Learning
Our classes take place outdoors whenever possible, allowing children to learn through
exploration, play, and hands-on discovery.
Community-Driven Model
Little Semillas is built by families. Parents are partners, contributors, and leaders in our
collective.
Heart-Led Education
We focus on emotional safety, confidence, and connection—not just academic outcomes.
Accessible & Inclusive
As a nonprofit, our goal is to make enriching education and cultural experiences available to
more families through scholarships, partnerships, and community events.
Rooted in Service
We extend learning beyond the classroom through cultural fairs, service projects, and
community engagement that teach children empathy and responsibility.
